Barn Owl painted handmade brooch pin

A wooden laser cut brooch designed and hand-painted by me! These are inspired by illustrations from medieval manuscripts. This one depicts a tiny flying barn owl. I painted her by hand with acrylic and finished with shellac. She has a butterfly clasp on the back. Please choose if you'd like a metal or rubber clasp (rubber ones mean it's less likely to spin round when pinned!)

She measures approximately 4.5 x 3cm. As all the brooches are painted by hand, individually, and every piece is one-of-a-kind, some very small, minor variations in detail might occur.

Did you know that in British folklore barn owls were seen as a bad omen? With its dark eyes peering out from its white, mask-like, heart-shaped face, the barn owl has a ghostly appearance and often shrieks and screams. I love these beautiful and spooky creatures.

Sadly I am currently unable to post to the US and the EU due to ever changing tariff and import complications. I hope this changes and will update my shop as and when this happens!
