Workshops and Classes
Feedback from previous workshops:
“Thank so much Daisy for expert tuition and everyone else for being such a smashing bunch. Tuesdays are going to feel very empty without puppet club!”
“Thank you for such a totally fabulous course. It was such a treat and such a lot of lovely people making creating beautiful puppets. I've always had a bit of a block making anything 3D but the building blocks of making a puppet were so easy to to do that before I knew it I had a character. That was a surprise.”
“I liked making a puppet but I also liked the laid back part of talking to people. I’ve come away with skills I’ll use again. I’m making another puppet at home.”
“the course opened up fresh ideas all round!”
One-to-one Puppet Making Classes in and around Brighton, UK
Vouchers available, please contact me!
I am now offering one-to-one puppet making classes from my home studio in Newhaven, East Sussex! You can either choose from a one day workshop (which can be split over two short days if you prefer), or a weekend workshop (over two full days). Over this time, you will make your own puppet to take home with you! Please contact me for more information!
Beginner’s One Day Workshop
Simple materials and techniques will be used to make a glove puppet, as this is quite a straight forward style with which to start your puppet making journey. As well as your own puppet, you will also leave with advice on how to develop this style of puppet, if you want to make a more detailed version. Materials are provided, but feel free to bring along any specific fabric or decorations you might particularly want to use for the body.

The Amazing World of Kelp - animation workshops with Year 5 children
In 2025, I worked with Artswork to facilitate two Year 5 classes in Littlehampton to make an animated film inspired by the Sussex Kelp Recovery programme. This is the finished film.
This film was created using 4 different animation forms by 60 Year 5 children at Rustington Community Primary School. The background footage was provided by Big Wave Productions from the Help Our Kelp campaign video. Script and voice recordings were by students at River Beach. Sound effects and score were created by students at River Beach Primary facilitated by Foz Foster. Editing by Rosie Powell with support form film student Evelyn Orell. The project is funded by Arts Council England with support from Arun District Council.

Free Online Monkey Puppet Workshop for families
In December 2024 I ran a community puppet making workshop in Newhaven. This was part of a project ran by Ignite Theatre, a Newhaven local theatre company, with whom I worked for in their Christmas show, The Twits.
I created an online version of the workshop, which can be found here.
