Born and raised in Dartford, Kent, I am a visual artist, puppeteer and maker currently living in Newhaven (near Brighton), East Sussex, England. I am a multi-media artist, working in puppetry, painting and sculpture, cardboard art and performance. I create and perform my own puppet shows, and storytelling is at the heart of all strands of my artistic practice.

My work is often both playful and dark and tends to explore the boundary between human and “other”, with a particular focus on non-human primates. Indeed, I have been obsessed with monkeys and apes all my life! Hovering on the boundary between human and other animals, our closest animal cousins evoke the Uncanny, and have always aroused in us feelings of fascination and discomfort.

My work aims to reflect on and scrutinise this boundary, and ultimately advocate for these often exploited creatures.
